On a beautiful spring evening I was standing at one of the smallest fortified towns in the Netherlands, namely Nieuwpoort in Zuid-Holland. For a moment I was afraid we would get a clear sunset. But just as the sun was sinking on the horizon line some clouds were creeping over the town with its beautiful moat around it.
Through the bare trees you could see the church tower and in the distance the small tower of the town hall. At the corner of the fortress dyke there is a cannon to keep the danger at bay. In short, a beautiful evening in the town of Molenwaard 😉
